Zimparks takes tourism to people

By Daniel Chigundu

ZIMPARKS is exhibiting its holiday packages at Join City Mall in a bid to promote domestic tourism which has been very low.

Most Zimbabweans have not visited tourism attraction sites in the country owing to various reasons such as lack of awareness and in some cases exorbitant entry prices.

The country is working flat out to ensure it increases domestic tourism levels.

Zimparks officials at the exhibition stand said “we are just showing people our packages available to them.

“The challenge is that most people think going for a holiday it’s expensive but it’s not for example if you see the prices on our Pay Now and Stay Later Packages you would realise it’s actually affordable and you can plan.

“So people can take advantage and start to pay for their Easter holidays,” they said.

Tourism is one of the country’s lowest hanging fruits with quick wins and is earmarked for a huge growth going forward owing to various investments that are being made in both infrastructure and products.
